These photos were taken in June of 2010 from Bandon to Florence, Oregon. Of the five days of touring, we had about 2 1/2 days of rain. The other days were cloudy and foggy, which are a photographer's delight. The following are the locations in the area....Bandon Beach, Coquille River Lighthouse, Charleston Boat Yard (where the abstracts were taken), Shores Acres (flowers), Arches under bridge in Florence, Sweetwater Creek Falls, Mapleton, andHeceta Head Lighthouse
Black and white was my first love in photography. Like most first loves you never quite get over it. In those days it was film, dark rooms and chemicals.
Now I am photographing digitally and photoshop is my dark room. This has been a learning experience for me, one that I am still working on.
I do still photograph with a Hasselblad medium format camera with 120 black and white film.
I do love taking landscape photographs. I will have to admit, I do not love getting up prior to the rising of the sun for those first soft cool photos, nor do I necessarily enjoy being out at the last ray of sunlight. What I do enjoy are the spectacular photos that can be created by the wonderful morning and evening light. It is fabulous.
